Different Stories from the Japanese Survivors of World War II

Various Japanese survivors of World War II shared their experiences and memories from the war and reflect on their survival as a matter to advocate peace. These survivors include students that participated as Nadeshiko Volunteers and Japanese Imperial Army Pilot.

Nadeshiko Volunteers” are a group of young Japanese girls, who volunteered to assist at Japanese military air bases, particularly at the Chiran airbase in Kagoshima Prefecture, which was the primary launching point for kamikaze (suicide) missions.
