U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth visited Iwo Jima with Japan’s Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru to commemorate Battle of Iwo Jima and paid tribute to all the lost soldiers. The joint visit highlighted the shared “warrior ethos’ between both nations and strengthened U.S.-Japan relationship.
